As scheduled, the DEA and the newly formed “Uniformed Supervisory Coalition” commenced contract talks with the City of New York on July 8th at 10:00 am.
The Uniformed Supervisory Coalition consists of the DEA, LBA, and the CEA of the NYPD, and all the other supervisory unions in Fire, Corrections and Sanitation.
At the session, which lasted approximately one hour, the Coalition expressed our dissatisfaction with the wage pattern established by the United Federation of Teachers. The Unions requested all pertinent data from the City regarding the recent health agreement between the City and the Municipal Labor Committee. This information is critical to the DEA and other Coalition participants in determining the values associated with the savings generated from the health agreement before we can go any deeper into negotiations.
The Coalition and the City agreed to establish a Technical Committee to review the data and values. No other terms and conditions were discussed at this meeting.
Once the City produces the requested data, a Technical Committee meeting date will be announced.
