DESCRIPTION:The DEA regrets to announce the death of Det. Samuel Haigler\, who retired out of the 17th Detective Squad and whose death is pending official post-9/11 Line of Duty status. Haigler was appointed to the NYPD on January 26\, 1988. He was promoted to Detective on July 28\, 1994. He retired on June 30\, 1010\, and passed away on August 22\, 2025. He will be deeply missed. \nViewing will be \nFriday\, September 12\, 2025 \nFrom 09:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. \nat the Second Canaan Baptist Church \n12 Lenox Avenue \nNew York\, NY 10026 \nFuneral service to follow at same location at 11:00 a.m. \nDet. Haigler will be buried at Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery at 22-21 Maple Avenue in Fair Lawn\, NJ 07410. \n  \n  \n  \n  \n
