Miller was appointed to the force on January 20\, 1987. He was promoted to Detective on December 5\, 1997\, and earned second grade on May 28\, 2004. He earned first grade on December 22\, 2006. During his tenure with the Intelligence Bureau\, he served as the NYPD’s liaison with Great Britain and was stationed in England.
