SUMMARY:Wake & Funeral for Linda Zadroga
DESCRIPTION:The DEA mourns the passing of Mrs. Linda Zadroga on March 3\, 2025. She was the mother of the late NYPD Det. James Zadroga\, who died from 9/11 cancers and diseases in 2006. Because James’ wife Ronda predeceased him\, after James’ death\, Linda and her husband Joseph raised their granddaughter Tyler Ann\, now 23\, in their home in southern New Jersey. \nLinda and Joe Zadroga’s fight for their son and his family led the way for the State and federal 9/11 Disability and Death Benefit bills\, the World Trade Center Health Program\, and the Victim Compensation Fund. They were fierce and steady advocates for all first responders. Along with the DEA and other labor unions\, the Zadrogas fought for legislation\, including that which was named after their son James\, that has now greatly benefitted tens of thousands of first responders\, providing health care and compensation for the ailments\, often fatal\, suffered as a result of serving in the toxic\, environmental waste and debris created by the terror attacks of September 11\, 2001. \nMrs. Zadroga was hospitalized in January of 2024\, when her husband — an Army veteran and the retired Chief of the North Arlington\, New Jersey Police force — was killed in a freak incident. He was hit by a car in the parking lot of the hospital where Linda was being treated. \nIn addition to Tyler Ann\, the Zadrogas are survived by James’ brother Joseph F. Zadroga\, his wife Lisa\, and their daughter Dakota. \nLinda will be deeply missed. What she and Joe accomplished on behalf of all those who suffer from 9/11-related illnesses was profound. May she and her family never be forgotten\, and may Linda and Joe rest in peace. \nViewing for Linda Zadroga  \nMarch 9\, 2025 \n3:00 p.m. to 7:00 pm. \nArmitage & Wiggins Funeral Home \n596 Belgrove Drive \nKearney\, NJ  07032 \nFuneral for Linda Zadroga \nMonday\, March 10\, 2025 \n11:00 a.m. \nQueen of Peace Roman Catholic Church \n10 Franklin Place \nNorth Arlington\, NJ  07031 \nInterment \nHoly Cross Cemetery \n340 Ridge Road \nNorth Arlington\, NJ  07031 \n  \n

SUMMARY:Memorial Mass for Retired Det. First Grade John F. Daly
DESCRIPTION:There will be a Memorial Mass for retired Det. First Grade John F. Daly\, who passed away at age 92 in Portsmouth\, Virginia on January 28\, 2025. \nThe Memorial Mass will be held beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday\, March 9\, 2025\, at St. Luke’s Church at 340 North Franklin Turnpike in Ho-Ho-Kus\, New Jersey 07423. \nDet. Daly was appointed to the force on February 20\, 1956. He earned his gold shield on August 16\, 1964\, and second grade in 1982. He earned first grade in 1988\, and retired in 1989\, out of Detective Borough Manhattan South\, although he served most of his career in the 106 Squad. Among the many cases he solved in his 33 years with the NYPD was the robbery and murder of Transit Det. George Caccavale in 1976. The DEA published a story about his relationship with the Caccavale family in the fall 2021 edition of The Gold Shield magazine. \nDet. Daly was a warm\, sincere\, outgoing\, and remarkable man who will be deeply missed. Our hearts go out to his family and friends. May he rest in peace. \nClick on the pdf file below to read more. \nSomeone to Call on Father’s Day — Gold Shield Fall 2021

SUMMARY:Annual Tribute Honoring SSG James D. McNaughton
DESCRIPTION:The annual tribute honoring SSG James D. McNaughton is returning\, possibly for the final time on Saturday afternoon\, February 1st\, 2025.
