There will be a Street Renaming Ceremony to honor Detective Maureen M. O’Flaherty, who passed away from World Trade Center related illnesses on November 28 2019.
Det. O’Flaherty retired out of the Brooklyn North Warrant Section on January 9, 2003. She was approved for post-911 WTC Line Of Duty designation on January 1, 2024.
The Ceremony will be Saturday, June 29, 2024, beginning at 1100 hours at the intersection of Beach 128th Street and Cronston Avenue within the confines of the 100th Precinct. The sponsor of the street renaming bill was NYC Councilmember Joann Ariola.
