The DEA regrets to announce the passing of active Det. Juliet A. Shields of SVU Night Watch, a command in which she served since January of 2023.
After attending college in Binghamton, Juliet Shields was appointed to the force on January 20, 2004, and promoted to Detective on June 2, 2014. During her tenure in the NYPD, her commands included the Brooklyn Special Victims Squad, the 68th Precinct, and the 61 Squad.
Det. Shields passed away on December 31, 2023, her 50th birthday. She was known for her vibrant smile and her love of singing. She is recalled as “hard-working, honest, and above all, true to herself.”
