The DEA regrets to announce the October 31st passing of First Grade Det. Thomas J. Gallo who retired from the Chief of Detectives’ Office in 2009. Det. Gallo suffered from, and passed away from, cancers relating to his work on the rescue and recovery of the World Trade Center terrorist attacks. Det. Gallo was appointed to the force in 1984, was promoted to third grade in 1994, second grade in 2004, and first grade in 2006. The Gallo family retired to North Carolina where he remained dedicated to community service and law enforcement. His family invites you to his wake at the Cavin-Cook Funeral Home at 494 East Plaza Drive in Mooresville, North Carolina 28115 on November 4th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be a memorial service starting at 4:00 p.m. at the same location.
