The DEA Health Benefits Office has received several phone calls inquiring about coverage for various vaccinations (i.e., shingles, flu, RSV, COVID, etc.). Please be advised that you should reach out to your medical carrier (such as GHI, Anthem, Medicare, etc.) regarding any coverage you might have, as the DEA’s prescription drug plan through Express Scripts does not cover vaccinations.
You may, however, have supplemental insurance which does cover vaccines; so, please call those carriers.
Vaccines are considered “preventative medicine,” and therefore are not covered by drug plans, but instead are often covered by medical plans. The DEA’s Express Scripts plan, however, does not cover vaccines.
