Cause of Death: Illnesses contracted as a result of work on the rescue and recovery from the World Trade Center attacks of September 11, 2001.

Det. Enrico J. Crisafi was born and raised in Brooklyn, and appointed to the force on January 9, 1986. He was promoted to Detective on March 3, 1999, and retired from DCPI — the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Public Information — on January 18, 2006, after 20 years of service. Det. Crisafi and his wife moved to California, where he started working as the personal assistant to superstar musician Stevie Wonder. In March 2016, Enrico began experiencing extreme abdominal pain and knew something was wrong. His symptoms progressed for the next eight months, as he continued his quest for a diagnosis. Enrico became his own advocate and got a PET scan, which revealed he had pancreatic cancer. Enrico became a vocal advocate for cancer patients and made a number of inspiration videos that can be found on the social media pages of the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research. His illnesses were tied to his work on the rescue and recovery from the WTC attacks. Det. Crisafi passed away on November 28, 2021. On October 12, 2022, his death was deemed in the line of duty. He was survived by his spouse.
