Det. Second Grade George A. Flores was appointed to the force on July 5, 1986. He was promoted to Detective on October 27, 1995, and earned second grade on October 28, 2005. Because of illnesses he contracted as a result of his work on the rescue and recovery from the WTC attacks of 2001, he retired out of the Brooklyn Child Abuse Squad on July 31, 2006. He died on August 28, 2022. He was survived by his spouse and two children.
