Provide security to highly sensitive public and private client locations through patrols, monitoring and access control. Duties include the following: Secure property and personnel by patrolling, scanning and controlling facilities, grounds and access points; Maintain a secure and safe environment by monitoring access control systems; Complete reports from recorded observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities and questions visitors; Respond to emergencies, report irregularities, inform violators of policies, protocols and procedures and restrain trespassers; Maintain the organization’s integrity and reputation by complying with operational, procedural and legal requirements; Ensure that security equipment is functioning regularly by conducting preventive maintenance, following the manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and evaluating new equipment and techniques; Attend all Company mandatory training sessions throughout the year; Review and understand Company protocols and procedures and take part in training; Perform additional tasks as assigned.

 

Education and Experience required includes the following: Must be at least 18 years of age; High School Diploma or equivalent; A Degree in Criminal Justice a plus; For armed positions, must have prior law enforcement experience, necessary pistol permit and armed security officer license; For unarmed positions, military or law enforcement background preferred, and security officer license a plus; Intermediate computer and electronic communication skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Drive; Ability to cope with emergencies and uncertainties; Ability to adhere to operational planning and procedures; Surveillance skills; Ability to exercise sound judgment and objectivity; Dependable; Ability to sustain emotional control; Honesty and integrity; Professionalism; Reporting skills. Suit and tie dress code required.

 

Physical requirements include the following: Ability to stoop, stand, walk, crouch or crawl for long times; Ability to stand for long hours; Ability to work in adverse conditions including changing seasons (rain, snow, sleet, hail, etc.)

Brosnan Security is requesting active duty and retired Law Enforcement Officers and active duty and retired military personnel apply for security positions immediately in Florida. Secondary locations include Georgia and the Carolinas. Immediate pre-storm and post-storm deployment protecting Walmart locations. Pay rate is $420 per day (12 hour shifts daily); $50 per diem for meals. Travel and lodging paid for; $250 standby per day (if you arrive prior to storm, not applicable if you arrive post storm). $250 travel day payment. Duration of shift, seven-plus days minimum. Uniform of Brosnan shirt provided, you must provide dark colored pants and boots. Armed Shift Supervisor Needed

The successful Armed Shift Supervisor will be responsible for directing, coordinating and overseeing all activities of the on-site security staff: including all supervisory, training and operations functions at the assigned post in accordance with post orders and client instructions, and following all internal procedures. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Coordinates all aspects of executing the security contract at the assigned location(s); Responsible for supervising, motivating, coaching and training employees; Conduct interviews, make recommendations for placement of security professionals, and execute site-specific orientations; Is the first point of contact for security professionals regarding performance, operations, emergency response activities, and department needs; Responsible for scheduling and payroll coordination at assigned site.  Qualified applicants for the Armed Shift Supervisor’s position will meet the minimum requirements as listed: High school diploma or equivalent required; Some college education or business classes desirable; Minimum 5+ years of professional-level supervisory experience required; 10 years of law enforcement experience required; Experience in scheduling, operations or other functions of security industry required; Must possess a valid NYC Armed Guard License; Must possess a valid NYC Unrestricted Carry Permit; As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a post-offer/pre-employment drug test; As a condition of continued employment, employee must maintain current active status of all required License(s) at all times, and must carry the license(s) at all times while on duty; Energetic and focused personality with a demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines. The hours are Monday-Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., pays $20 per hour.

Security Analyst Positions With LIRR

Contracted Security Company seeking retired law enforcement personnel with investigative background and above average computer proficiency for full-time employment as security analysts assigned to the 24/7 operation of the LIRR’s Regional Security Command Center. Scope of employment and responsible duties to include detecting, identifying, and coordinating with System Safety, Transportation, and the MTA Police/Interagency Counterterrorism Task Force (ICTF), as well as other law enforcement agencies on all security related emergency responses or threats that pertain to railroad properties and infrastructure, and to provide system-wide security that ensures the safety of LIRR employees, as well as a secure transportation environment to its paying customers. Security Analyst’s duties to include, but not limited to the monitoring and securing of surveillance video; alarm monitoring pertaining to intrusion, fire, and panic alerts; access control monitoring; coordination of the Incident Command Center; and the overseeing of all third party unarmed uniformed security guards posted at various locations throughout the railroad system.

 

Qualifications and requirements for employment to include prior law enforcement background, above average computer proficiency skills, above average report writing skills, and a current NY State Department of State Security Guard License. Counterterrorism training and Fire-Safety training a plus. Starting salary is $26.24 per hour. Full-Time employment is 32-40 hours per week. Currently looking to fill vacancies on the 2200 x 0600 shift. As we are a 24x7 operation, all prospective employees will be expected to work a portion of the weekend as well as any holidays that fall into their assigned schedule. Schedules are a) SUN thru WED and b) WED thru SAT.
