In June of 2022, the Detectives’ Endowment Association and NYPD Labor Relations are set to implement the “Catastrophic Leave Bank” which is a centralized time bank to be used by Detectives who have exhausted their accrued vacation time and need additional time to deal with a family medical emergency.
All Detectives, except those who have notified the DEA that they do not wish to participate, will have one (1) day of vacation time deducted from their annual vacation accrual.
Should any Detective choose not to participate in the program, he/she may fill out the “Waiver” form and return it to the DEA no later than June 6th, 2022.
