Make Sure You Are Registered to Vote

The DEA wants to ensure all of our members are registered to vote in the upcoming election: especially since we need you to vote NO to a Constitutional Convention in New York State. If you are not yet registered, you can —

 

REGISTER ONLINE

 

You may register online through the Department of Motor Vehicles. Click on the link below:

REGISTER BY MAIL

 

To vote in the 2017 Primary Election — your registration form must be postmarked in the United States mail no later than August 18, 2017. (It must be received by the Board of Elections by August 23rd for you to vote in the Primary.)

 

To vote in the 2017 General Election — your registration form must be postmarked no later than October 13, 2017.(It must be received by the Board of Elections by October 18, 2017 for you to vote in the General Election.)

 

Party enrollment changes received by October 13, 2017 will be effective for the 2018 Primary Election.

 

REGISTER IN PERSON

 

You may register in person at your local Board of Elections or any State agency participating in the National Voter Registration Act, on any business day throughout the year, but, to be eligible to vote in the State and Local primary, your application must be received no later than August 18, 2017.

 

IF YOU NEED TO CHANGE YOUR ADDRESS

 

Notices of change of address from registered voters received by August 23, 2017 by a county Board of Elections must be processed and entered in the records in time for the State and Local Primary.

 

VOTE BY ABSENTEE BALLOT FOR THE STATE AND LOCAL PRIMARY

 

September 5, 2017 is the last day to postmark an application by mail for an absentee ballot. September 11 is the last day to apply in person for an absentee ballot and the last day to postmark the ballot. The ballot must be received by the Board of Elections no later than September 20, 2017. September 12th is the last day someone can deliver a ballot in person to the local Board of Elections on behalf of a voter

VOTE BY ABSENTEE BALLOT FOR THE STATE AND LOCAL GENERAL ELECTION

 

October 31, 2017 is the last day to postmark an application or letter of application by mail for an absentee ballot. November 6th is the last day to apply in person for an absentee ballot and the last day to postmark the ballot. The ballot must be received by the local Board of Elections no later than November 15, 2017. Military voter ballots must be received no later than November 21stNovember 7th is the last day someone can deliver a ballot in person to the local Board of Elections on behalf of a voter.
