Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s “Reforms”

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s “Reforms”

If you are having any sort of difficulty with the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office — such as if they are failing to follow up on a case, are resisting prosecution for crime(s), or have actually declined prosecution of one of your arrests — please let the union know as soon as possible. As you know, and have no doubt noticed in the press, the battle has been launched between law enforcement and District Attorney Bragg’s so-called “criminal reform,” which is his plan to stop prosecuting crimes which he deems not worthy of prosecution, without regard for the rights of the crime victims or even the safety of the general public. The union’s position is that his plans will make it unsafe for our members, for the victims, and for the general public. Bragg is overstepping his authority as the top prosecutor for the Borough of Manhattan. The District Attorney’s job is to execute the law, not make new law. We encourage members to inform DEA Welfare Officers, Trustees, or anyone at DEA headquarters when problems arise.
