On Wednesday, June 17, the DEA participated in a conversation with federal monitor Peter Zimroth. The federal monitor is prepared to offer a final version of a new Stop and Frisk policy to federal court for review and adoption. Michael Palladino to elaborate. Here’s the back story: On April 9th, the DEA and general counsel met with the NYPD’s risk assessment unit regarding the new stop, question, and frisk policy. The DEA was given access to the new stop, question, and frisk training materials, proposed patrol guide revisions, and the new stop, question, and frisk form. The DEA and the other four police unions were granted limited participation with the NYPD in order to have some input into the proposed changes.
