The DEA wants clarification from Labor Relations of the written minutes from a September 13th S.O.D meeting with regard to “counseling” for members of the ESU with a high number of Tri-Reports.
Here’s the backstory: On May 4, 2018, DEA President Michael J. Palladino held a discussion with Chief Matthew Pontillo regarding the Tri-Report policy.
Here’s more backstory: The DEA had discussions with the Department’s Office of Labor Relations and the Risk Assessment Unit on ESU’s behalf regarding the current use of force policy and how it pertains to ESU. All parties met on December 8, 2017, at which time ESU Delegates and the DEA expressed our issues. A follow-up meeting took place at headquarters on March 15, 2018. Recommendations were submitted for changes to the use of force policy and Tri-Reports.
