On Friday, October 13, 2023, the family of active NYPD Det. Roan Lewis of the Grand Larceny Division suffered a devastating loss when their apartment was destroyed because of a fire which started in a neighboring unit. While there was no loss of life, the family lost everything. Nothing could be salvaged. The Lewis family welcomed a newborn the month before, and already had one toddler.
