On Monday, April 17, 2023, DEA President Paul DiGiacomo addressed the “Victims of Violent Crime in Manhattan” hearing at the Jacob Javits Federal Building held by Congressman Jim Jordan of Ohio and the House Judiciary Committee. He discussed problems in New York City and State that are pertinent to the safety of our Detectives, such as bail reform laws, the need to lower the age to be charged as an adult, the need for a Special Firearms Prosecutor, the need for Judges to have discretion, the need to repeal the Diaphragm Compression Law, and other issues hindering law enforcement and creating unsafe conditions for our members.
