David Teta joined the NYPD in July 2004. He began his career at the 100th Precinct, performing Patrol and Anti-Crime duties, before transferring to the Firearm Analysis Section of the Police Laboratory, where he was promoted to Detective in 2014. In 2016, he was assigned to the Gun Violence Suppression Division, where he is currently serving. In 2020, he successfully lobbied for and won the delegate election, taking on the responsibility of representing 200 Detectives at the Division’s peak.
David will continue to represent his fellow Detectives in departmental hearings and in the trial room, while also supporting the membership and their families during times of need. He carries out these responsibilities with honor, integrity, and dedication.
