John F. Hourican became a Police Officer in 1993, and was promoted to Detective in 1998. He served as an Undercover in Narcotics from 1996 through 2002. He was promoted to Second Grade in 2008, and in 2009, John was elected DEA Delegate for Manhattan North Narcotics, a unit to which he is still assigned. He earned First Grade in 2013. Elected DEA Welfare Officer for the Manhattan North area in 2014, John was elected in 2018 to the Manhattan North Trustee’s position. He has helped numerous Detectives both on and off duty. He is currently serving as an alternating fully-released union Board Officer with Manhattan South Welfare Officer Ryan Johnston. They both continue to represent our members with dedication, honesty, and integrity.
