The DEA regrets to announce the passing of Retired Det. Second Grade Clarence E. Word, whose death is pending 9/11 LOD status. Det. Word was appointed to the force on April 30, 1991, and promoted to third grade on June 4, 1999. He earned second grade in 2004, and retired out of the Hate Crimes Task Force -Bias Incident Investigation Unit on April 29, 2011.
