The DEA regrets to announce the death of Det. First Grade Artis L. Beatty, who retired out of the Intelligence Division, Public Security Section, on February 28, 2023. His death is pending 9/11 LOD status. Artis Beatty joined the force on March 17, 1994, and was promoted to third grade on November 26, 2002. He earned second grade on September 28, 2007, and first grade on December 18, 2015. He was a longtime, former DEA Delegate and will be greatly missed.
