Wake & Funeral for Ret. Det. First Grade Thomas O’Malley

The DEA regrets to announce the passing of Retired Det. First Grade Thomas O’Malley.

Det. O’Malley joined the force on January 29, 1973, and earned his gold shield on March 1, 1984. He earned second grade on December 22, 1997, and first grade on November 22, 2000. He retired out of the 10 Squad on December 31, 2001.

Det. First Grade O’Malley was a former DEA Delegate, and among the famous cases he handled was the disappearance and murder of Gail Katz Bierenbaum, which was featured as a February 2001 Detective of the Month story in the June 2001 issue of The Gold Shield magazine.
