Honor the Fallen …
9/11 Tribute Center seeks volunteer guides from NYPD
The 9/11 Tribute Center (http://www.tributewtc.org/” href=”http://www.tributewtc.org/”>http://www.tributewtc.org/) is a museum located directly across from the World Trade Center site. It’s dedicated to documenting a history of 9/11 described by those who lived through the tragedy.
9/11 Tribute Center volunteers — first responders, 9/11 survivors and family who lost loved ones in the attack — share their 9/11 stories with the public as guides on the 9/11 Memorial and at a weekly speaker series at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum entitled “9/11 Tribute Center Presents: We Were There.” Tours follow a basic outline, but there’s no set script to memorize. Each volunteer’s own 9/11 story and experience makes his/her tour different and uniquely meaningful.
If you responded on 9/11 or in the aftermath of the attack, you can be a voice for the men and women from your chosen profession and tell the story of the NYPD’s valor, compassion, and sacrifice. Share your story to honor the memories of the 23 fallen NYPD Officers, the more than 70 NYPD Officers who have lost their lives because of 9/11 related illnesses, and for all who perished that fateful day.
Help make sure we never forget and continue to remain vigilant against terrorism.
Extremely flexible time commitment.
