Electronic Contract Ballots Have Been Emailed As Of Monday, October 2

The electronic ballots for our contract ratification vote have been emailed to the active DEA membership since Monday, October 2, 2023.

We have reached a tentative agreement with the City memorializing the base wage increases for five (5) years and enhancing the DEA pay scale. The DEA secured the base wage increase of 3.25%, 3.25%, 3.50%, 3.50%, and 4%, equating to 18.77% compounded over 60 months (covering the period of June 1, 2022, through May 31, 2027). We reduced the number of steps to reach top pay, and put money directly into the remaining steps of the pay scale.

We were able to accomplish all of this no concessions or givebacks. Furthermore, our Longevity at the five (5)-year, fifteen (15)-year, and twenty (20)-year steps are increased by the same percentage as the base wage increases; plus, the City agreed to discuss extra unit value related to “uncaptured” overtime that can be used in future negotiations.

Based upon these factors, it’s the position of the DEA that the membership should endorse these contractual terms. During these precarious times of City cuts and budget woes, the DEA worked hard to bring you this positive agreement, productive, and equitable contract.

The electronic contract voting will begin on Monday, October 2, 2023 and the vote count will take place on October 16, 2023. Be on the look-out for these materials.

We implore all of our active members to vote. The City monitors these elections to track union participation. We need your help to help you. When you receive your electronic ballot, please vote on our latest contract proposal.

If you need technical assistance with the online voting system, you will be able to contact Intelligent Design by phone at (800) 913-8430, ext. 2 or by email at [email protected].
