DEA Member Named President of National Kidney Donation Organization

The National Kidney Donation Organization (NKDO) has appointed retired second grade Detective Michael Lollo as its President.

As a “Good Samaritan” kidney donor himself, Lollo is highly qualified to lead the non-profit organization devoted to raising awareness about kidney disease and promoting living kidney donation.

A 21-year veteran of the NYPD, Lollo donated his kidney to a stranger in 2018, through the National Kidney Registry (NKR). The transplant took place at New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell Medical Center. While with the NYPD and since his retirement out of the Intelligence Division in 2020 as a second grade Detective, he has been an active member of NKDO. Since his donation, he regularly counsels potential living donors as well as recipients in need of a living donor kidney transplant.
