On Monday, June 13, 2022, Jagger Freeman was found guilty of 13 out of the 14 counts he faced, including felony murder and robbery, in the death of DEA Delegate, Det. First Grade Brian Simonsen, shot and killed in the line of duty on February 12, 2019. Freeman was the second perpetrator in the case to be tried. His cohort, Christopher Ransom, pled out to aggravated manslaughter and other charges and was sentenced to 33 years in prison last November 2021.
