On January 29, 2024, a Grand Jury finally indicted the killer of Megan McDonald, the 20-year-old daughter of retired Det. Second Grade Dennis McDonald (who passed away in 2002).
Megan was murdered on March 14, 2003, and her body was found in the Town of Wallkill in Orange County, New York. The DEA thanks the New York State Troopers and all the law enforcement agencies in New York State who helped make this arrest and indictment possible after 22 years. In 2022, the DEA created wanted posters to try and elicit more witnesses who may have had additional information about the brutal, senseless killing that has haunted the McDonald family and the Orange County community for two decades.
