After a thorough and extensive vetting process, the DEA Health Benefit Trustees chose Capital Rx to be our new Prescription Drug Manager, effective February 1, 2026. Capital Rx will replace the incumbent Express Scripts. Members will be covered by Express Scripts until midnight on January 31st so there will be NO break in prescription coverage should you need to fill a prescription.
Capital Rx is accepted by most major chains (CVS, Walgreens, etc.) and retail pharmacies throughout the United States.
Capital Rx uses Costco for mail-order prescriptions. So, members receiving their medications through the mail can continue to do so using Costco.
DEA members can expect to receive a “welcome package” from Capital Rx containing a new Capital Rx DEA Identification Card, along with literature explaining the new prescription program.
Once you receive your new Capital Rx Prescription ID card, we suggest you notify your pharmacy and bring the new card with you to ensure coverage.
