For retirees who are due money under the recently ratified contract, which runs from April 1, 2019, and expires on May 31, 2022, please note that the NYPD Payroll Section will be mailing you a check with your retro money. The checks will go out on the same scheduled date(s) as the active Detectives’ payments, which are as follows:
On March 18, 2022, Detectives will get retroactive salary (with overtime), longevity, and nightshift.
On April 1, 2022, Detectives will get retroactive holiday pay.
On April 15, 2022, Detectives will get retroactive uniform allowance.
Checks will be mailed to the address the Police Department has on file for you. If you need to update your address, please do so as soon as possible.
A letter from the Pension Section will follow confirming any adjustment to your pension.
