Statement to all DEA Members from Michael J. Palladino, DEA President —
Our hearts and minds are with the Dallas Police Department as we mourn the loss of their dedicated Police Officers. We have pledged to the Dallas Police Association, on your behalf, our full support to their members and the families of the fallen Officers.
As a result of the shooting in Dallas, along with the other recent controversial police incidents around the country, we ask you to exercise extreme caution while at work conducting your duties. The fact that most Detectives perform duties in civilian clothing does not mean you are exempt from the hatred and violence directed at Law Enforcement at this time in America. We are very concerned about “copy cat” events, so please remain alert and proceed with caution. We remind you that whoever you are engaged with at any moment may not be the individual(s) posing a threat against you, so exercise as much peripheral vision as possible, and be cognizant about who and what is going on around you at all times.
