The DEA regrets to announce the passing of retired Detective and former DEA Delegate from the 1st Squad, Nicholas A. Reina, who was appointed in 1989 and retired from the force in 2014. After battling a long illness and kidney failure, Nick lost his fight against kidney disease. Nick and his wife Donna are both NYPD first responders who worked during 9/11. The couple has two children, John and Danica. A “Go Fund Me” page has been set up by friends to help the Reina family in this time of duress.
