The DEA, along with our brothers and sisters at the PBA and the other NYPD police unions, mourn the passing of Police Officer Anastasio Tsakos of the Highway Unit Patrol 3, who was killed by a drunk driver while he was working on another accident scene on the Long Island Expressway in the very early morning hours of April 27, 2021. A 14-year member of the Department, P.O. Tsakos was a husband, a father, a son, and a valued friend and colleague to thousands who knew, loved, and worked with him. He will never be forgotten.
