In memory of her father, Det. George Caccavale, Carla Caccavale is producing a limited edition, grey, pullover memorial sweatshirt with all proceeds going to the DEA Widows’ and Children’s Fund, the Det. Brian “Smiles” Simonsen Foundation, and Blue Lives Matter K-9.
Det. Caccavale was a 33-year-old Transit Detective with 11 years on the job when he was shot and killed by three armed robbers on June 26, 1976, while working a second job off-duty at a check cashing facility in Queens.
