Widows’ & Children’s Fund

Donate to the DEA Widows’ and
Children’s Fund

The DEA maintains a not-for-profit charitable Fund – the DEA Widows’ and Children’s Fund – which originated to help support the families of those who died in the line of duty. The concept of this Fund dates back to the founding of the Union in 1917, at a time when the widows and children of slain Officers received very little assistance, and it was up to the Officer’s colleagues to look after the welfare of the families of their fallen brothers and sisters. That protective spirit, bond, fraternity, and brotherhood still exists today amongst the members of New York’s Finest.

The DEA Widows’ and Children’s Fund is a registered 501(c)3 charity that provides financial help to the families of NYPD Detectives who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Every member of the DEA makes a solemn vow never to forget our fallen heroes, and forever to support the families who are left behind. In addition to helping our “Line-of-Duty Families” (including traditional “combat” deaths, 9/11-related deaths, and COVID-related deaths), the DEA Widows’ and Children’s Fund brings much needed joy to the families’ lives by organizing children’s holiday parties, social outings, school scholarships, and so much more. Please join us in helping bring smiles to the faces of those who have sacrificed so much for the citizens of New York.

All donations are fully tax deductible.
