The DEA was in court March 8, 2021, because Queens DA Melinda Katz vacated the sentence of shooter Paul Morant, who was serving 25-years-to-life for the attempted murder of Det. Keith Schweers, now retired, but still suffering heart damage from Morant shooting him in the chest in 1995. There will be another court date on March 22, 2021.
On March 15, 2021, there was a parole hearing for the last remaining killer of Det. George Caccavale (Claude Holland, DIN #77A4844). The decision on Holland is expected by the end of March.
