2026 UNIFORM ALLOWANCE PROGRAM

ENROLL BY TUESDAY, DECEMBER 1ST TO RECEIVE YOUR CHECK FOR THE HOLIDAY!

MUST BE AN ACTIVE DETECTIVE ON NOVEMBER 1, 2026 Your Detectives’ Endowment Association is now making tax-free Uniform Allowance payments available. Based on current tax law and in agreement with the City of New York, active Detectives may qualify to have their annual dues payments offset the taxes associated with the Uniform Allowance. Active Detectives will now be entitled to these payments with no deductions. This check will now be issued by the DEA and not the City of New York.

To receive the tax-free uniform allowance check, Detectives must log onto the DEA website and complete an electronic form, which can be digitally signed and submitted to the DEA. The DEA will maintain a database of all the completed forms.

Forms must be completed online and received at the DEA no later than Tuesday, December 1, 2026. The Uniform Allowance checks will be mailed to your residence of record with the DEA in mid-December when the uniform check has historically been paid.
