On the morning of March 8, 2021, retired first grade Det. Michael Dougherty and his family lost their home of 25 years in a devastating house fire. Mike, his wife, and two of their three children were home at the time and were able to escape; however, all of their belongings were destroyed.
Mike and his wife, who works as a registered nurse at a local hospital, raised their three children at their home. They are now displaced as they start to rebuild their lives and replace as much as they can.
Mike served the NYPD for 30 years before retiring in the fall of 2019, out of the FBI/NYPD Metro Safe Streets Task Force.
