The son of Retired Det. Carlos Bernard — Carlos “Coca” Bernard — is organizing the 2nd Annual Coca Strong 5K/10K on August 2, 2026. He is a senior in high school and running in the event himself, despite being diagnosed with leukemia and fighting a rare disease. Last year, Coca successfully raised $29,000 for Global Genes. This year, all event proceeds will go to the aHUS Foundation, supporting the rare disease he has. Thankfully, he’s doing well and healthy! Any help would be hugely appreciated.
