Det. Jennifer Williams died on February 16, 2017 of illnesses contracted on her work during the rescue and recovery of 9/11. She was appointed to the NYC Housing Police in January of 1986. She was promoted to third grade Housing Detective in November of 1992. The NYC Housing and Transit Police forces merged into the New York Police Department in 1995. She earned the rank of Detective second grade in March of 2007, and retired out of the 101 Detective Squad in Queens South in July of 2008.
