Dear Detective,
This year, we celebrate Easter and Passover much differently — apart from family and friends due to the risks of Coronavirus. As in years past, many Detectives are away from loved ones at work protecting the people of New York City. Although we are not physically near one another, we have never been closer.
This holiday season, we face unprecedented challenges as Detectives are on the front lines of this pandemic. These challenges have brought grief to every member with the tragic deaths of Detectives Cedric Dixon and Jack Polimeni. As we mourn their loss, our unity gives us strength. Keep these two heroes and their families in your hearts and prayers. Please also keep our other members affected by the virus, two who are in critical condition, in your thoughts.
Detectives will once again lead New Yorkers through what will be recorded as one of the toughest times in history. You should all take great pride in knowing you are part of that history.
The Detectives’ Endowment Association wishes you and your family a peaceful and healthy Easter and Passover. Know that we are always here for you and your family.
