This year has been anything but normal for Detectives and their families. Although we have all experienced unprecedented challenges, dangers, and sorrow it is your steadfast commitment to New York City and one another that keeps us thankful.
The DEA Board of Officers is thankful for every Detective we are honored to represent. Each of you make our union stronger — and the city safer even in the midst of the current chaos. The vast majority of New Yorkers appreciate you despite the headlines we read and the political rhetoric we hear.
As many of us sit down for dinner today, please say a prayer for the six hero Detectives we lost this year due to the Coronavirus and every brave, selfless cop who sacrificed their life on behalf of those they served. Please also keep our brothers and sisters in blue who are working and away from their families this holiday in your prayers. We wish you and your family a happy Thanksgiving.
