RE: Paul Ford (DIN# 81B1297)
Dear Mr. Escobar:
I request that parole consideration for the above-mentioned prisoner be denied.
On August 14, 1980, this violent offender and two of his cohorts were in the process of stealing a car when they shot and mortally wounded off-duty Police Officer Harry R. Ryman. Officer Ryman was a 17-year veteran of the New York Police Department and was assigned to the 60th Precinct. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, a loving husband, and a father to five children. Officer Ryman was the recipient of 17 NYPD medals, including the Medal of Honor.
Officer Ryman identified himself as a Police Officer, but regardless, Ford and his cohorts shot at him 14 times. This perpetrator and his associates do not deserve parole.
For the family, friends, and colleagues of Officer Harry Ryman there will never be any parole from the pain and frustration of his senseless death. Their misery should not be compounded by the potential freedom of this cop-killer.
I urge you to deny any parole petition for Paul Ford. This criminal lost his right to freedom the day he decided to gun down a New York City Police Officer to steal a car. Let justice be served by keeping Paul Ford and his associate in prison for life. Thank you for considering my position.
Sincerely,
