RE: Bruce Lorick, DIN #81A2502

Dear Mr. Aldana:

I am writing to urge you to deny parole to New York State prisoner Bruce Lorick, DIN #81A2502, currently serving his prison sentence for killing a New York City Transit Police Officer in cold blood.

On June 19, 1980, P.O. Joseph Keegan was escorting Bruce Lorick to the street because Lorick was loitering around the subway at Columbus Circle. Lorick stole the service weapon of Officer Keegan and shot the Officer in the head. Lorick was later caught in Central Park, convicted of second degree murder, and sentenced to 25-years-to-life. This reckless, thoughtless perpetrator killed a hardworking veteran member of the Transit Police at 5:30 a.m. over the cost of a subway ride.

Now, Bruce Lorick wants parole. This is an affront to the family of Officer Keegan, the members of law enforcement, the residents of Columbus Circle, and to law abiding citizens everywhere.

Officer Keegan served more than 19 years with the New York City Transit Police Department and was murdered just 40 days shy of his retirement. He was only 41 years old. He was survived by his fiancée, his mother, two brothers, and two sisters.

I urge the New York State Division of Parole to fulfill its obligation to safeguard the citizens of New York by keeping cop killers like Bruce Lorick in prison for life. I respectfully request that the New York State Division of Parole deny Bruce Lorick’s parole petition.

Sincerely,

Events
