On June 7th, DEA President Michael J. Palladino met with Chief Wedin and Chief Lukach regarding tri-reports and ESU. Here’s the backstory: The DEA had discussions with the Department’s Office of Labor Relations and the Risk Assessment Unit on ESU’s behalf regarding the current use of force policy and how it pertains to ESU. All parties met on Friday, December 8, 2017, at which time ESU Delegates and the DEA expressed our issues. A follow-up meeting took place at headquarters on March 15, 2018. Recommendations were submitted for changes to the use of force policy and tri-reports. On May 4, 2018, DEA President Michael J. Palladino held a discussion with Chief Matthew Pontillo regarding the tri-report policy.
