During the early morning hours of Saturday, April 5, 2025, active Det. David Rodriguez of the Gun Violence Suppression Division tragically took his own life. His colleagues on the force and with the NYPD Finest Baseball Team have set up a “Fund the First” campaign to help ease the financial burdens on the family during this most difficult time. Det. Rodriguez’s wife is also a member of the NYPD and an active Detective. She and the Rodriguez children greatly appreciate any contributions you are able to make.
