The DEA regrets to announce the passing of retired Det. First Grade James V. Meehan. James Meehan joined the force on February 28, 1994. He was promoted to Detective on June 24, 1999, and promoted to second grade on June 29, 2012. He earned first grade on August 31, 2015. After 25 years with the NYPD, he retired on February 28, 2019, out of the Midtown South Squad. He will be greatly missed.
