The DEA regrets to announce the death of Det. Samuel Haigler, who retired out of the 17th Detective Squad and whose death is pending official post-9/11 Line of Duty status. Haigler was appointed to the NYPD on January 26, 1988. He was promoted to Detective on July 28, 1994. He retired on June 30, 1010, and passed away on August 22, 2025. He will be deeply missed.
