The Detectives’ Endowment Association (DEA) is calling for your immediate action. Legislation is now on the table in Albany to create a buffer zone for law enforcement officers when they are doing their jobs. This affects every member with peace officer status in New York State—no exceptions, no exemptions.
This is not a distant issue—it is a direct threat to how we perform our jobs and protect the public.
On Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 12:00 PM, the DEA, alongside the New York State Public Safety Alliance, will take to the steps of City Hall for a press conference and rally addressing the escalating harassment, targeting, and interference facing law enforcement.
Let’s be clear: if we don’t stand up now, no one will do it for us. We expect a strong presence. Join us, and wear your DEA apparel. Show up. Be seen. Be counted.
We also expect you to use your platform. Share this message across your personal social media channels. Silence and inaction only weaken our position—unity and visibility strengthen it.
This is about more than one event. This is about drawing a line and demanding real protections for those who put themselves on the line every day.
Show up. Speak out. Stand together.
Event Details: City Hall Steps, NYC on Thursday, April 23 at 12:00 PM.
Thank you, as always, for your continued commitment to standing together on issues that impact all of us.
Fraternally,
Scott Munro, President
Detectives’ Endowment Association
