The DEA sent a letter to Governor Hochul regarding the public safety crisis caused by bail reform laws. We are asking her to expand judicial discretion to take into account a defendant’s criminal history, close the dangerous loopholes that force automatic release of repeat offenders, and reinforce accountability and deterrence to end this cycle of repeat offenders continuing their mayhem, creating danger to law enforcement and the public.
